PRINCETON, New Jersey, Feb. 1, 2021 – HarborChase of Princeton partnered with Akin Care Senior Services and the Kingston Ladies Auxiliary to host a drive-thru holiday event to collect food that benefitted the South Brunswick Food Pantry. In addition, sold wreaths for $25 each with all proceeds being donated to the Kingston Volunteer Fire Company #1.

The soon-to-be-opened assisted living and memory care community conceptualized a unique way to give back during the COVID-19 pandemic by providing wreaths to local businesses and professionals who decorated the wreaths and subsequently gave back to the community to sell. The drive-thru event raised money for the food bank, was attended by 110 cars, 150 guests, 40 volunteers, and received countless non-perishable food items.

The money raised from the Wreath Stroll in the amount of $1,000 will be presented to the essential workers of Kingston Volunteer Fire Company #1 who have been resilient in their efforts to ensure the safety of those directly and indirectly impacted by the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. A portion of the wreaths was given to be put on the gravestones of former pastors and ministers affiliated with Kingston Presbyterian Church.

Harbor Retirement Associates identified a task force at the cusp of the pandemic to strategize how to combat and manage the outbreak of COVID-19. Future residents of HarborChase of Princeton will be eligible to receive the vaccine to continue to prevent contracting COVID-19 as residents qualify being a part of Phase 1a or those who are most susceptible.
