Karen Gore was born in Newark, NJ and grew up with a close-knit family along the Jersey Shore. Little did she know that she was destined to work with seniors.
After graduating from Rider University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance she planned for a career in education. However, her grandmother became ill and the family agreed that she needed professional care. Karen took charge and researched the best place for Ms.Bee to live. Her unexpected education, borne out of love, led her to Assisted Living. She volunteered at the community where Ms. Bee lived and fell in love with caring for seniors.
Before making the professional transition to senior care, Karen served as Director of Admissions in the education field. With her grandmother's experience guiding her she began to research career opportunities as an Administrator in senior care. She soon joined Brookdale Senior Living in North Carolina where she served as an Administrator, overseeing three buildings for over two and half years. The career change decision proved valuable to all, as all three buildings received four star surveys from the State of North Carolina.
Karen is licensed as an Administrator and Medical Technician in the State of North Carolina and has a Provisional South Carolina License as an Administrator. Karen joined HRA July 7, 2010 and has enjoyed every day at the Rock Hill Community, supporting the team by demonstrating the core values of being good stewards to our residents and family members.
In 1995 Karen married her husband Ron. They have two children, Alexi who is ten years old and RJ who is eight.
